Google Chrome connects to the network via the proxy settings on your computer. Changing these settings will affect both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, as well as other Internet-connected programs. To connect proxy to Google Chrome, you must first:

To configure or alter your network settings, follow these steps:

1. Select Chrome from the menu bar. On the browser’s toolbar, there is a Chrome menu.

2. Select Configuration

3. Click Activate advanced settings

4. Click Change proxy settings in the “Network” section. This will launch the Internet Properties dialog box (Windows), which allows you to configure your network settings.

5. Select the Connections tab, then LAN Settings.

6. Under Proxy server, select the Use a proxy server for your LAN check box.

7. In the Address box, enter the proxy server’s IP address. Your proxies are sent as PROXY IP:PORT NUMBER pairs.

8. Type the port number that the proxy server uses for client connections in the Port box.

9. Suppose you do not want the proxy server computer to be utilized when connecting to a computer on the local network. In that case, you can click to choose the Bypass proxy server for the local addresses check box.

10. To close the LAN Settings dialog box, click OK.

11. To close the Internet Options dialog box, click OK once more.

12. Visit www.whatismyipaddress.com or www.iplocation.net to verify if your proxy’s IP address is listed as your own.
